Brootal Doodle Apparel was established August, 31, 2009. It was founded by Jonathan Davito, an aspiring designer, whose goal is simple; to give attention grabbing designs on high quality clothing for extreme music lovers. Influenced by art, children’s bedtime stories, tattoos, the underground music scene and moshing, Brootal Doodle Apparel found its vision; to unify the underground music scene and spread a positive message about it through a brand of clothing. The underground is very diverse with the various genres that make it up, metal, hardcore, punk, etc. and Brootal Doodle, despite the conceptions of others and the strong opinions already present, wants spread a rather positive message in seemingly negative environment.
“Mosh Awareness”
As corny as it sounds it is what we mean, which is: people of all different backgrounds, different musical tastes, and different genders like to mosh, slam dance, hardcore dance, and so on, and are in the pit for the same reason, to have fun. So have fun! Respect and protect each other in the pit. Go out of your way to not intentionally hit people when you hardcore dance, pick up people up when they fall down, and accept all types of people in the pit, including women. Brootal Doodle Apparel exists to be an icon of this through art and fashion, we are Brootal Doodle.

I went to a show last night with The Acacia Strain headlining and Vince their lead singer said something that sums up the attitude of Brootal Doodle Apparel. He said he saw a Cannibal Corpse fan, a Veil of Maya fan, and a Terror fan and said,
“That’s beautiful that metal heads and hardcore kids can be in the same place and have a good time together.”
That is exactly what Brootal Doodle is about; unity in a genre that is divided. That’s why this brand exists. And we will support any metal, hardcore, (or even punk) band, anywhere, who is all about unity in music, not elitism.

Change in brand
American Apparel is what we have been using, but if you know anything about an American-made product they are very expensive. We are switching to Alstyle Apparel and we will now be putting in our own tags or print into the shirts. I can assure you there will be no change in quality, style or feel of the garments. Thank you all who have supported us to make this possible step.
Who are we?
I feel that now that I have made a blog for this company I should keep all of you guys up to date as to what we are doing and more importantly what is our function. A lot of people think we are a custom printer, that if you give us a design we will print it for you and we aren’t so don’t ask us to. We are not a band merch site either, HOWEVER, we have made a deal with one of our sponsored bands, Sunpocrisy, to make a one design band tee for them. The only difference between us and a merch company is that we take an order from and sell the shirt to them at a wholesale price so that they can sell their merch on their own. But the main reason we exist is to take artwork that is influenced by extreme music, put on nice clothes, and sponsor metal bands. Our goal is to unite the metal community through a brand, worldwide, no matter what the sub-genre of metal you may be fan of. Metal is metal.

Sunpocrisy a great and refreshing sound on the Italian metal scene who are heavy, ethereal, driving, ambient, and experimental all at once. They were also ranked number 4 at the famous MetalBattle 2010 for Wacken: Open Air.
